Video: Four Years of Work, Four Days on Display
© Photo and Video: Isabel Moliati
I spent four years working on my art installation “Space Walk”. Each individual figure is based on live sessions with models. Every model represents one of the slightly more than seventy women who have travelled into space over the past decades – compared to around 650 men!
The video shows me walking through the installation for the very first time. It took four weeks to assemble. Until that moment, I had only seen the individual components of my work – this was the first time I experienced the full composition as a whole.
For four days, visitors were able to explore the installation in person – in a hall that was perfect for it, located right next to my studio within the co-working space.
THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN ASTRONAUTICS
This artistic installation is one of several exhibitions in which I explore, through art, the role of women in astronautics and their underrepresentation in the field.
The exhibitions “Houston, We Have a Problem”, “Space Walk”, and “The female Astronauts of Willendorf” can be booked individually or as a complete series by institutions.
Individual works, sculptures and prints are available for purchase, as are new editions of the calendar for the coming year 2026.
For booking requests – or if you'd like to stay informed about upcoming exhibitions and activities through this blog – feel free to send me an email.
