🇩🇪 Wer nur ausgetretene Pfade betritt, kann nichts Neues entdecken: „Nothing grows in your comfort zone“ ist ein Leitspruch meiner Kunstlehrerin und Mentorin Hilary Mullany. Der Versuch, immer wieder Neues zu schaffen, sich nicht unreflektiert selbst zu kopieren, ist herausfordernd, aber der Mühe wert. Beide Modelle, Esperanza und Frida, tragen zwar nicht in Wirklichkeit, doch auf dem Bild Brautkleider. Vorherrschende Farben sind Weiß, Rot und Schwarz. Die Deckschicht der bemalten Wellpappe ist teilweise entfernt und gibt dem Bild eine dreidimensionale Oberflächenstruktur.

Trato de crear algo nuevo una y otra vez; no copiarse a uno mismo sin reflexionar sobre ello es un reto, pero vale la pena. Ambos modelos, Esperanza y Frida, en realidad no llevan vestidos de novia, pero sí en la imagen que produzco de ellas. Los colores predominantes son el blanco, el rojo y el negro. La capa de pintura superior del cartón ondulado está parcialmente retirada, lo cual otorga a la imagen una estructura superficial tridimensional.

🇬🇧Those who only tread well-trodden paths cannot discover anything new: "Nothing grows in your comfort zone" is a guideline of my art teacher and mentor Hilary Mullany. The attempt to create something new again and again, not to copy oneself without reflection, is challenging, but worth the effort. Although both models, Esperanza and Frida, do not wear wedding dresses in reality, in the picture they do. The predominant colours are white, red and black. The top layer of the painted corrugated board is partially removed and gives the picture a three-dimensional surface structure.
